There’s something so powerful about documenting the beauty of pregnancy. Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, maternity photos are a celebration of strength, anticipation, and transformation. One of the most common questions I hear is:

When should I schedule my maternity session?

Here’s what I recommend—and why timing makes all the difference.

The Sweet Spot: 30 to 35 Weeks

The ideal time for maternity photos is typically between 30 and 35 weeks. At this point in your pregnancy, your bump is beautifully visible, but you’re still (usually!) comfortable enough to move around, pose, and enjoy the session. Waiting too late into your third trimester can mean more swelling, fatigue, or limited mobility—and while I always aim for a relaxed experience, your comfort is key.

Why Earlier Isn’t Always Better

In the second trimester, many expecting parents feel their best—but your bump might not be fully showing. These sessions are all about highlighting that curve of new life, and waiting just a few more weeks ensures it really shines in every image.

A Built-In Pause Before Baby Arrives

Scheduling your maternity session gives you a moment to slow down, reflect, and be celebrated. It’s also the perfect excuse to dress up, get pampered, and mark this once-in-a-lifetime chapter—before your hands (and heart) are even more full.

Let’s Plan Together

When you reach out, I’ll help with everything from choosing a dreamy Bucks County location to offering styling guidance that makes you feel radiant. Whether you’re envisioning a studio session with clean, modern vibes or something outdoors in golden light, I’ll help you create something that feels like you.

Looking to book your maternity session? The best time to schedule is now—even if you’re only in your second trimester. Let’s get your date on the calendar!
