Studio + Outdoor Maternity Session | Doylestown PA Maternity Photographer
One of the best things about planning a maternity session is that it doesn’t always have to be a choice between studio portraits and outdoor photos. For this August maternity session, we did both.
We started at my Doylestown studio with soft, timeless portraits of this mama-to-be and her husband before heading to an outdoor spot nearby for the last part of their session.

A Relaxed Studio Session with Doylestown, PA Maternity Photographer
The studio gave us a clean, simple backdrop where the focus could stay completely on the two of them and this season they’re in together.
We started with a soft neutral look and photographed a mix of intimate portraits and some that felt a little more playful and relaxed. And, of course, their tiny dog made an appearance too.

I always want maternity photos to feel like you, rather than an endless series of poses where you’re staring at the camera with your hands on your belly. Giving couples space to interact and move creates photographs that feel much more natural.

We also had time for an outfit change and some portraits focused entirely on mama.

You Don’t Have to Choose Between Studio and Outdoor Maternity Photos
This is one of my favorite options for clients who love the polished, intimate feel of a studio maternity session but also want some of the warmth and natural beauty of outdoor photographs.
Because we have outdoor locations close to my Doylestown studio, we can create two distinctly different looks without turning your maternity session into an all-day production.
After finishing in the studio, we headed outside while the light was getting softer.

The late-summer greenery and flowers gave us a completely different backdrop from the studio while still feeling cohesive with the rest of their gallery.
And then we caught that gorgeous end-of-day light.

Planning Your Doylestown Maternity Photography Session
If you’re trying to decide between indoor and outdoor maternity photos, you may not have to. Depending on the time of year, weather and the look you want for your gallery, we can plan a session that incorporates both my studio and a nearby outdoor location.
It’s a beautiful way to get the variety of two different settings while keeping the experience simple.

If you’re expecting and looking for a Doylestown PA maternity photographer, I’d love to help you plan a session that feels like you—whether that means staying cozy in the studio, heading outside, or doing a little bit of both.
