In-Home Newborn Photography | Lansdale PA Newborn Photographer
There is something especially sweet about welcoming a new baby home—and watching an older sibling figure out their brand-new role in the family.
For this in-home newborn session, I joined a sweet family of four in their Lansdale home to photograph those early days with their new baby girl. As a Lansdale PA newborn photographer, in-home sessions give me the opportunity to document not only your new baby, but the familiar spaces where your family is settling into life together.
Welcoming a New Baby at Home
One of the things I love about in-home newborn photography is that your home becomes part of the story.
We spent much of this session in the baby's nursery, using the soft natural light and the spaces this family already spends their days together. There was no need for elaborate setups or lots of props. Baby could be held by Mom, snuggled against Dad, or simply photographed exactly as she was.
These everyday spaces may feel incredibly ordinary right now, but that's part of what makes photographing them meaningful. The nursery that currently feels like such a huge part of your world won't always look this way—and your newborn certainly won't stay this tiny for long.
Including Big Siblings in Newborn Photos
Big sister was four, and she was incredibly sweet with her new baby sister.
Some of my favorite photographs from the session are simply the two girls together: big sister carefully holding the baby, leaning in for a kiss, and getting a chance to show off this tiny new person who has suddenly become such a big part of her world.
When there's an older sibling at a newborn session, I don't expect perfection from them. Four-year-olds aren't designed to sit still and pose on command—and they don't need to.
Instead, I want to capture the relationship that's beginning to form. Sometimes that means a traditional sibling portrait, but often the photographs parents end up loving most are the little interactions in between.
Relaxed Newborn Photos Without Leaving Home
For families considering newborn photography in Lansdale or elsewhere in Montgomery County, an in-home session can be a wonderful option if you'd rather stay in your own space after baby arrives.
We can use the nursery, primary bedroom, living room, or wherever the best light and most comfortable spaces happen to be. Your home doesn't need to look like it belongs in a magazine, and you don't need to prepare every room. We're only using small pockets of your home at a time.
Most importantly, newborn sessions aren't dependent on a sleeping baby. This little girl gave us plenty of wide-awake moments, which meant we got to photograph those tiny expressions and curious newborn eyes along with the sleepy snuggles.
The goal isn't to manufacture a perfectly posed version of life with your new baby. It's to create beautiful photographs of your family during a season that changes unbelievably quickly.
Choosing a Lansdale PA Newborn Photographer
Whether you'd feel most comfortable staying home or prefer the simplicity of coming to my Doylestown studio, we'll plan your newborn session around what works best for your family.
We'll make time for photographs of your new baby, the whole family, each parent with baby, and those incredibly important sibling moments—without expecting your newborn or older children to behave a certain way to make beautiful photographs happen.
If you're expecting a baby in Lansdale, Doylestown, or the surrounding Bucks and Montgomery County area, I'd love to help you document those first days together.
